symbol table functions?

Thank you Till,
I will likely use cexp to test functionality ... and as a way to test code.
It seems to do what the VxWorks wind shell or host shell does ... which is
useful for development-test cycle ...

Not natively. However, you can use the 'cexp' package for this purpose.

If you only want symbol access from a statically linked application
then you can strip it down significantly.
