Let me answer this way: I am aware about this increase in size, but
don't know the cause (yet). 

m68k-gcc-4.1.x had shown to be problematic when building on x86_68,
which has caused us to decide to switch to gcc-4.2.0 for the m68k,
while most other toolchains still stay with gcc-4.1.x.

So, this increase in size probably is a side-effect of switching to
gcc-4.2.0, but I don't am not sure about the cause ... to be
investigated :(
