rtems-cvs toolchain

I have been working with RTEMS 4.8 and have managed to get some code  
running on my 405EX hardware based on the obsolete gen405 BSP. This is  
clearly not the way to go, however, so I presume I should be working  
with the rtems-cvs code and the new bsp exception support. What  
toolchain do I need to compile the cvs code? Will the 4.8 tools do?
