Changes to start.S have no effect

Hi.

I am using the cross-compiler from gaisler, with RTEMS 4.6.
Target is SPARC/Leon2.


I change start.S (in c/src/lib/libbsp/sparc/shared/) and then recompile
rtems (following the instructions for the cross-compiler, just have to
"make clean" and then "make install" in /opt/rtems-4.6/src).
Then I compile an hello-world, and the changes to start.S have no effect
on the resulting file...

I've searched, and found no explanation for it.
Any kind soul has an idea what I am overlooking?
