Regarding the mvme5500 BSP,

1) it needs a small patch for both 4.7.2 and 4.8.
2) I have improved its performance since the paper
is published at
http://accelconf.web.cern.ch/accelconf/ica07/PAPERS/WPPB12.PDF
I have increased the performance of the firewire application
by 33%. The better news is that there is more room to
improve its performance except it is not a high priority at present.
3) In March, I finally had a chance to add support for the mvme6100
board based on the mvme5500 BSP so that I can work on another
project which needs its higher PCI bandwidth. The update took me
only a few days.

I will see how 1), 2) , and 3) can be released under EPICS
license. This might take a while b/c I still have other higher and
highest priority tasks.

Cheers,
Kate

Subject: RTEMS 4.7.2 Available

Hi,

RTEMS 4.7.2 is available. Important URLs are:

4.7 Release Notes:
  http://www.rtems.org/wiki/index.php/4.7_Release_Notes
4.7.2 Issues:
  http://www.rtems.org/ftp/pub/rtems/4.7.2/PRs-closed-4.7.2
FTP Download:
  ftp://www.rtems.org/pub/rtems/4.7.2
HTTP Download:
  http://www.rtems.org/ftp/pub/rtems/4.7.2

The 4.7.2 release includes fixes for a handful of
irritating but non-critical issues that people have
encountered.

Remember the Apt/Yum repositories are up and if you are an
RPM GNU/Linux user, this is by far the easiest way to install
and subsequently update the development tools. It now takes longer
to download the RPMs than it does to install them, configure and
build RTEMS for a simulator BSP and run the hello and ticker samples.

If you have questions or issues, feel free to bring
them up on the RTEMS mailing list.

I also ask that you update the appropriate BSP page on the Wiki
with any status and testing information you have. And if
you have a real problem, file a PR in Bugzilla.
