Debian-host build error...

Hi,

at this point I don't have much to add, since the cause of the problem was determined.

Ed, you are running some ancient version of Debian.
kernel 2.6.18 and libc6 2.3 (or older) are... old.

Upgrade your distro to the latest stable version of Debian and you should solve your problems.
I've been running Debian for a few years and it works fine (as good as a linux system can anyway ;))
