Copyright notices

Good day,

I have been revving my code to use the 4.9.3 code base and noticed that the copyright dates aren't being kept up to date. Something tells me that it really doesn't matter, but do you have to update this notice to reset the copyright clock, or does the act of publishing the code reset the clock?
