There are signal related issues with gdb-simulators on MinGW, but IIRC, 
these do not cause a sis/erc32 built failures.

My advice: If you absolutely must use Windows, use Cygwin. If you have 
the choice use a different host OS.

IMO, MinGW is nowhere close to where people's wishful thinking wants it 
to be.
