Compile rtems c code in debug mode

Hi all,
I'm able to compile a rtems C source code and make it run on a target 
board. It works without any problems.
Now i want to compile it in debug mode. Shall I only use *-g* flag or 
there are other options to set?
I'm using sparc-rtems4.11-gcc compiler.
