The SpecBuilder is a Python base tool that uses the spec files in the 
rtems-crossrpm.git repo to build the tools from source on platforms that 
do not natively support the rpm packages. The latest snapshot supports 
FreeBSD (with a change to the spec files to work around a sed issue):

There is no repo at the moment until I get the cvs one converted to git.

I have not tested Ubuntu but if someone can give me access I would make
