Hi,

It depends on which driver is active.
Probably you want to check page 135 of this document:
http://gaisler.com/anonftp/rcc/doc/rtems-gaisler-drivers-1.1.99.13.0.pdf
I think you need to call ioctl with SET_ASCII_MODE to disable the
driver's ASCII mode.
