1.4.7 is quite outdated.

As autoconf tells:
M4 1.4.6 or later is required; 1.4.16 or newer is recommended.

You need to install both automake and autoconf.

The warning "Can't locate Autom4te/ChannelDefs.pm in @INC"
refers to a file which is provided by automake, which would indicate you 
don't have automake installed.
