Hi everyone,

We got a successful build of RTEMS 4.10 for the sparc/sis target processor and BSP combinations. We also got some of the samples successfully built. Now we just need to
be able to run them with "sis". Our "sparc-rtems4.10 tool chain" is successfully built and installed.

I tried "sparc-rtems4.10-sis hello.exe" and got "sh: sparc-rtems4.10-sis: command not found".

Q1: What is the path to: "sparc-rtems4.10-sis.exe"? Where is it located? It is not in our "/opt/rtems-4.10/bin/" directory.

Here is a list of the sparc-rtems4.10 files in our "/opt/rtems-4.10/bin/" directory:

sparc-rtems4.10-addr2line.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-ar.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-as.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-c++.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-c++filt.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-cpp.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-difftest
sparc-rtems4.10-g++.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-gcc-4.4.7.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-gcc.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-gccbug
sparc-rtems4.10-gcov.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-gdb.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-gprof.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-ld.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-nm.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-objcopy.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-objdump.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-ranlib.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-readelf.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-size.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-sorttimes
sparc-rtems4.10-strings.exe
sparc-rtems4.10-strip.exe
unhex.exe

Q2: Why are we missing "sparc-rtems4.10-sis.exe"?

Thank you,

mcp750 has a rom monitor that can load and execute an rtems image via tftp over ethernet- "nbo" command will do it. The output of the RTEMS compilation will be an executable, that the mcp750 can load from a tftp server. Very convenient. Once your app is in a more final state you can put it in the flash or on a hard disk and the rom monitor will load it from there- same exe format.

Hi Joel,

I do know that "RAD750 is ITARS" from your response to my earlier question several weeks ago. I am asking about mcp750. Is mcp750 ITARS too, or is it synonymous with RAD750?

Thank you,

The RAD750 is ITARS and there is no public documentation on it.

My recollection is that we used the hardware debugger or downloaded
via SuROM in its expected format.

Hi everyone,

1. Is there a documented process for downloading / uploading an RTEMS .ralf / .exe image onto a PowerPC/mcp750 board?

2. If there is, would someone be kind enough to point us to it? Otherwise, could someone please help with how to?

Thank you,
