Some of he sparc BSPs have multiple serial ports and I THINK I recall that
the termios support for them requires extra semaphores.

I think confdefs allows a BSP to specify it has extra termios ports. This
might be the culprit.

I am on my phone. Which BSP was this and did it define something like the
termios configuration option?
