Hello Amalaye,

On a CENTOS 7 system, I followed the instructions posted by Chris:

I wanted to test the instructions as well as the source-builder ;-)

Thank you. I cannot express how valuable this feedback is.
You are very welcome!

After downloading rtems-source-builder-4.11.0-rc4.tar.xz

I did as instructed:

The following builds RTEMS for the SPARC architecture:

 $ cd
 $ mkdir development/rtems
 $ cd development/rtems
 $ tar Jxf rtems-source-builder-4.11.0-rc4.tar.xz

    note - make sure this command points to wherever you downloaded rtems-source-builder-4.11.0-rc4.tar.xz

The source for this file is here ...

If you would like to add a note to this file and send a patch to devel list that would be awesome. I am close to cutting a final RC for 4.11.0.

My reason of rate comment was that this was the one line that could not just be cut/pasted and required a moment of thought by the user. Perhaps that is not a bad thing!

I suppose you could change

$ tar Jxf rtems-source-builder-4.11.0-rc4.tar.xz

to read

$ tar Jxf /path/to/rtems-source-builder-4.11.0-rc4.tar.xz

Would that be acceptable and helpful or should it just be left as it is?

It becomes obvious very quickly if the tar command does not find the source file ;-)

I’ll make this change and submit the patch - you are welcome to use it or not as you see fit.

Chris
