Hello Amalaye,

On a CENTOS 7 system, I followed the instructions posted by Chris:

https://ftp.rtems.org/pub/rtems/releases/4.11/4.11.0-rc4/

I wanted to test the instructions as well as the source-builder ;-)

After downloading rtems-source-builder-4.11.0-rc4.tar.xz

I did as instructed:

The following builds RTEMS for the SPARC architecture:

 $ cd
 $ mkdir development/rtems
 $ cd development/rtems
 $ tar Jxf rtems-source-builder-4.11.0-rc4.tar.xz

    note - make sure this command points to wherever you downloaded rtems-source-builder-4.11.0-rc4.tar.xz

    or copy it to development/rtems before starting.

 $ cd rtems-source-builder-4.11.0-rc4/rtems
 $ ../source-builder/sb-set-builder --prefix=$HOME/development/rtems/4.11.0-rc4 4.11/rtems-sparc

No errors were reported.

As to the Virtual Box issue, I had updated my Virtual box just before trying to run the exact same sequence and found that it failed to download the sources with
Error 104 - Connection reset by Peer errors during the ftp transfers.

Here is a link to what I think is the relevant discussion.
https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/16084

I simply downloaded the Virtual Box package for 5.026 and reinstalled it on my system (Mac mini - MacOs Sierra) and was able to execute the same sequence as above.

Good luck!
Jerry

Hello Jerry,

Can you please send us the commands you used to run RSB, for those of us who are playing around with various RSB configuration options? This will be helpful to me (and other users) becoming more familiar with the RSB tool.

Also if there is an open issue with VirtualBox 5.0.28, can you also share what the issue is and also provide any weblinks to it. This could also be helpful as well.

Regards,

   Hi Chris,
   Just wanted to let you know that I was able to build rtems-sparc via the RSB “out of the box” on my CENTOS 7 system. No problems.

Just a heads up that I first tried building on a newly updated VirtualBox (Virtual Box 5.0.28) and the ftp downloads failed!

Turns out, there is an “issue” with VirtualBox 5.0.28. reverting to 5.0.26 and it worked fine (actually still building, but no ftp issues!)

Nothing is ever easy!

Thanks for the RSB and for the support,
Jerry

This is a release candidate for RTEMS 4.11.0.

The release now contains the documentation. The ReST documentation

easy download.

One more release candidate is expected within the next week with the
remaining documentation updates being worked on after which the
documentation repo will be branched. There is also some minor packaging
corrections.

Please download, review, check, build and test sending any issues to the
