I believe that any Linux distribution which supports the platform such as raspbian should have the file? This is the freebsd approach now as far as I know.

I think that it is another option.

But, I think that device tree based probing for ARMv7A GIC, timer, serial is best approach.

I want to use device tree based probing method continuously.

If possible, please could you send me imx7d-sdb.dtb file which you are using ?

maybe you can temporarily disable the device tree based probing and use a hard coded console device.
