The details are in the patch set. For example, the DDR memory area assigned to the RPU BSPs is split in split mode. The TCM sizes are different in different modes.

The two cores share a GIC distributor. So, you have to agree on who does the basic initialization. You also have to make sure that the clock driver uses different TTC units.
