It's not just for CI we want to be able to tell users new to RTEMS that this is the BSP that will always work if you want to try RTEMS get a BeagleV Fire and we will guarantee it works. As you said generally the GDB+QEMU combination is popular and I think that's a huge boon. For CI we can use the sis simulator but we can also test using QEMU weekly to make sure it works there as well. I would be interested to see just how much the load difference is the reality is while it may be huge in relation it may also be fine to just run both sets of tests on every MR.
