You skipped point \\#4 above .. Where is the hardware available off the shelf?  and of course, at a reasonable price.  BeagleV Fire is $150 USD which I'm not enthused about.  Hardware testing will burn out boards which is another problem to contend with.

We want something users can test with real hardware and peripherals.
