I would not name this a key requirement. It took quite a while to notice this issue. The maximum static priority of the EDF schedulers is configurable, although the API for this is missing, see https://gitlab.rtems.org/rtems/rtos/rtems/-/merge_requests/436.

We can also change the default value for the EDF schedulers to 255. This should be clearly visible in the release notes, since this change can break existing applications.
