Issue created by Sebastian Huber: https://gitlab.rtems.org/rtems/rtos/rtems/-/work_items/5783
The items of the build specification follow no common format. The
order of the attributes, the indentation of the lists, the quotes, the
folding of long lines and the form of the integers vary from item to
item. Seventy-five items list their sources in no sorted order. A
reviewer of a change to an item therefore cannot tell a formatting
difference from a change of content.
Three options carry a hex format for a count. The interrupt number of
the MicroBlaze UART, the depth of the PL011 FIFO and the page count of
the AArch64 MMU appear in `bspopts.h` as `0x00000003`, `0x00000040` and
`0x00000040`.
The `specverify` tool of the `specitems` package checks the items
against a schema and formats them. With the schema of `specware` 1.3.2,
the command `specverify --format-items --do-not-indent-lists spec`
rewrites 148 items. The option `--do-not-indent-lists` writes the list
items at the column of their key. That is the form which nearly all
items use today, so it keeps the change small.
A later formatting pass may drop the option. The list items would then
move two spaces to the right of their key. That pass touches every item
which holds a list, so it needs a separate agreement.
This description was created with Claude Code assistance.
