All these scripts do is to reformat commit messages.

IMO, i the real world, in projects above a certain size, ChangeLogs are 
not a 1:1 transformations of commit messages, but are a separate and 
independent document and need to remain as such.

That said, in my view, commit messages are a widely neglibile internal 
implementation detail - the ChangeLogs matter.
