It is in much better shape today than two years ago. Clone rtems-libbsd (I think) and you can see the current state which is working but in need of attention to polish, fine tuning, testing, etc. My understanding is that it works but has only been tested on one or two target boards.

This is a dynamic area with Embedded Brains and OAR active there but there is a status page with more detailed  information on our ideas and progress. SMP is a big area with lots of little details.
