Ditaa and PlantUML can be used. I think they are pretty good and let us create
reasonable images quickly and in an open way.

There are real examples in the User manual. You can see the source here

I cover installing the tools on FreeBSD and Joel has added CentOS.

I cannot remember what happens with git when regenerating the images. I suggest
only adding the ones you create and add them. We add the .png files to avoid
everyone needing to install the tools to generate them.
