Yes, please leave it like this temporarily. I am working on the integration into the official release and then
the link will change something like this:

git clone //https://github.com/epics-base/epics-base.git

or possibly then also set to a fix release, like:
https://github.com/epics-base/epics-base/releases/tag/R7.0.4.1
