timing on qemu

Hi,

When I use benchmark_timer_initialize() and later read the value with
benchmark_timer_read(), it always shows 0 for me in qemu. Is this expected?

I am using the arm/realview_pbx_a9_qemu bsp, qemu 4.1.0, and I built the
testsuites with waf.
