Yes, I know. But I can only trace the history back to

This commit is apparently not the one for the author. I can only guess:
These files where imported from FreeBSD??? - and most likely from
another RCS??? They originally contain the famous CVS and SVN tag $Id$
(without date unfortunately).

Hence, I concluded the simplest solution is not to provide the year.
