Getting Started with GNAT/RTEMS

I'm just getting started with RTEMS.

Am I better off to use RTEMS 4.0.0 and apply patches, or take one of the
"Snapshots" (ie: rtems-20000118 or rtems-20000118a from
/pub/rtems/snapshots?

I have already found that I have a lot better luck building the tools on
Linux than on NT, and have decided to go that route.  I've been able to
build the binutils and gcc without too much difficulty, and will be trying
to build GNAT3.12 soon.
