Hi,..

>If you need read the flash while you write (Erasing of course)
>you can signal the active erasing task to restart once more.

>I think that a static web server (commercial web server) locks
>the access while the webmaster is making modifications of the site.
>(al least in the index pages). You need to change frequenlty the files?

it started off as just a way to get graphics into flash but now my boss
wants to use flash instead of battry backed sgram (flash is much cheaper),
what we will store is a log file and configuration for our realtime
telementry, this files will be changed anytime between every hour to every
year.

The logfile will be written (appended) to flash every few minutes (when
logging is enabled), so we need a good way of dealing with that, which is
the major problem.

>If you need a flash hard disk the rom file system is very bad of course.

I have to use it that way,.. but i will do a rom filesystem also.

>I wish also to see my BSP remotely controled with MONITOR extension
>throw TELNET service in a intranet/internet network or PPP access.

i have a windows laptop dialing up (via ppp) to my bsp and doing ftp and
web acess (from my bsp),.. the ppp code in teh snapshot is very bad,.. i
had to do much work to fix it.

>I study it but I seem a silly after 20 years in this world. I can resolve
>all this kind of problems in embedded systems but like STANDARD says is
very
>difficult the first time.

i will start to create a proper rtems filesystem (a copy of the imfs) for
flash,
in the beginning i will only write data to flash (untill its full then
reformat),
and keep the dir structure in ram,.. then i will try and write it all to
disk.

I think i will use the chip id to detect diffrent types of flash and use
suspend/resume
if that chips has it available.

regards
