There is `ddd', a really nice, use- and powerful GUI for gdb. gdb
is the only development-app that I prefer to have a GUI for. Note that
you can invoke `make', `edit' etc. through `ddd'/`gdb'.

Also, if you do version control management using CVS, there is
a nice frontend (tkcvs, AFAIK).
