patches outstanding

I think I have merged all outstanding patches and addressed all
problems reported on the list.  If you have submitted a patch
and not heard back from me that I merged it, then now is the
time to speak. Otherwise, I will cut a new snapshot as soon
as the simulators pass all the tests. :)
