Getting started - what & where to download?

these are all older versions, if you get the latest of everything
binutils,newlib,gdb etc and then apply the RTEMS patches you will be ok.

With two notes, firstly gcc 3.0.x is not recomended, 2.9.53 works just fine
as
does egcs 1.2. With RTEMS itself you can either use the 4.5.0 release or the
snapshots, the 4.5.0 release is realy quite out of date now.

There are several very nice dev enviroments for linux, being a mandrake 8.0
person, you have the wonderfull kdevelop 1.4 installed, but there are many
others around, one of the best being SourceNavigator from Redhat.

Our you could do it the good old fashioned way, bash,xemacs,gdb..
