Help me in building gcc for target i386 for rtems

This is just a guess since it appears that you have followed the 
instructions correctly
and have gotten further than the symbolic link to gcc problem.

Look at the output of the "mount' command.  Is your source/build directory
in binary mode.  This is the output I get:

C:\cygwin\bin on /usr/bin type system (binmode)
C:\cygwin\lib on /usr/lib type system (binmode)
C:\cygwin on / type system (binmode)

CR/LF causes weird problems
