How to download RTEMS to the target board ?

Take a look at a project called "das u-boot" on sourceforge.  U-boot supports powerpc, arm and others.  A very full-featured monitor.  I have used ppcboot (the "father" of u-boot) to boot Linux on a custom MPC860T based design and the monitor works great.  I think that RTEMS is one of the supported OSes!
