Optimize for speed: how?

Hi!

I would like to optimize my build of RTEMS for speed, possibly trading 
off space or initialization overhead. Is there anything I can do about this?

My board is based on a single-processor Motorola PowerPC (603e core).

I am in the process of adopting Till's changes that target EABI 
compliance. Till, did you see any change in speed after you did this?

Anything else? Any #defines that might help?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
