I agree with Ralph completely, I meant to say there are old boxes
around and I wouldn't have been too shocked to discover Chris
had one.  I was assuming of course that if you had one, you'd
be doing it for a specific reason and intended to keep using
it. (I wouldn't want to though! )

As for Chris's problem:

Upgrading RedHat is probably wise, even if it is annoying.
Although you could just add the library, but I wouldn't
"--force" it.
