pc386 time-of-day clock

A nice feature of the new MVME2100 BSP is that it sets the RTEMS time and date 
from the on-board time-of-day clock during BSP initialization.  Has anyone 
given any thought to doing the same for the pc386 BSP?  All pc386 systems 
should have a battery-operated time-of-day clock, right?

At the very least, has someone written an RTC driver for the PC hardware?
