RTEMS kernel image

Hi,

    I am new to RTEMS. I have built the RTEMS for i386 (pc386) on Linux. But
I am not able to find the kernel image.

I have couple of questions.

 

1. Can we have just the plain RTEMS kernel image (and not with the
application)? Can we get the bash prompt?

 

2. Whether RTEMS is a kernel based execution environment or the OS based
execution environment?
