Man, this is DEFINITELY not what I want to do.  As I'm sure you know, I just want it to WORK.  I've installed Fedora 12 to make it easier to work with RTEMS since then you're doing all the hard work, not to learn more about Linux.

Thanks, Ralf, maybe I'll look back at this next time I update and it keeps grinding to a halt.  This time, as I kept using "find" to try to locate where "yum update" was putting the files, and I kept going back into the other window, typing ^C, and re-starting the "yum update" every 20 seconds or so.  I eventually got all the updates downloaded before I found out where the files were being put, and then everything installed cleanly.  I probably left 100 half-finished downloads running at the update site, slowing it down even more.

It's odd that I'm only having issues with the RTEMS updates.  I googled a few things about "yum updates stopping" but couldn't locate anything clear.
