Handling Echo in telenetd

Hi,

We are using RTEMS shell via telent connection and have following problems:-

1)Automatically turning Echo off on telnet client:- When ever we try to type any commands on the telnet client it gets echo. AFAIK, the telnetd can inform client to turn off the echo but I am not able to find how to do it with RTEMS4.9 or 4.10. Can anyone help here? 

2)Exiting the telnet connection:- When ever we try "exit" or "bye" the shell gets exits but then again keeps on asking for login and password. Does any one have similar problem?
