MCF5485EVB Board Console problems

I just found these defines in m5484/FireEngine/lib/include/rtems/termiostypes.h
#define TERMIOS_POLLED      0
#define TERMIOS_IRQ_DRIVEN  1
#define TERMIOS_TASK_DRIVEN 2
Not sure how to tell if polling mode works
