Oh! You converted the RPM to deb or extracted the contents.
That changes things. :)

Try "ldd /opt/rtems-4.11/bin/sparc-rtems4.11-gdb" and see if all
the shared  library dependencies are met. That's a starting point.

Hopefully an Ubuntu user will speak up soon.  :)
