make lto-compress.o error & build recovery question

Gurus:
I am trying to build RTEMS tool set on Ubuntu for WLS. Making progress. but
then after several hours, build failed. I got the errors below. ANy idea
how to resolve and better yet, how to not spend another 5 hrs getting to
the point where the next issue pops up. In other words, do I have start
from ground 0 everytime I encounter a bug?
