undefined reference to `iflib_gen_mac', Ticket #3985

Arghhh,

as so often, if you are looking for a problem for a long time, then send the request to the list and
then read the ticket again, you can "see" the cause. 

Adding “-Wl,—gc-sections” to the LD_FLAGS solved the issue.
Sorry for the disturbance ...
