IMFS question

Is there a utility or procedure to convert a directory of files into an 
in-memory file system?

For example, if I have an embedded web server, I would want to serve up 
files that are statically linked into the RTEMS kernel.  I believe that 
this is possible after reading the RTEMS Filesystem Design Guide, but I 
found no references to examples or how to create my own IMFS other than 
a pointer to base_fs.c.
