Rtems BSP question

Hello,
I am trying to get a SBS VG4 board running under Rtems, and I have a few
questions:
   Is there a good starting point?
   Is the BSP supported under the development version?
  Should I be using a different version than 4.5.0?
  Which OS do you recommend for development?
  The VME card has a COP interface for debug, Is this supported?
