cexp and loadable modules

hi,
i read something about dynamically loadable modules and rtems and i
found "cexp". as far as i understand it, it is a shell-like prog which
allows one to dynamically load modules into a prog(rtems) on runtime,
right ?

if so: is it really a "shell" ? i mean is it necessary that a user types
the regexps and the load-module commands ?

is there an API available so that u could write a program  which is able
to download a specified file and load it as new task into rtems ? (like
kernel modules in BSD or Linux)
