Hi,

Google has announced that there will be a Summer of Code for
2009. According to Leslie Hawthorn, it will be a bit smaller
(targeting ~1000 students this year) and thus will likely target
fewer organizations (~150). The stipend amounts ($4500 to the
successful student and $500 to the organization) will remain
unchanged.

At this point, there are no assurances that projects that made
the list last year will do so in 2009. Also there is no assurance
that by submitting a student proposal, you will be accepted.

I have done some preliminary work on the Open Projects
page (http://www.rtems.org/wiki/index.php/Open_Projects)
and hope that you all can assist in updating that page
and adding new ideas. We need good projects to attract
students.

Please pitch in.
