Hi,

It is once again time to get ready for the
Google Summer of Code in earnest. I have
already submitted our proposal to be included
as an organization. I am pleased to say that
Chris Johns has agreed to be co-admin again this
year.

If you would like to be a mentor or backup
mentor, please email me privately so I can ping
you as it becomes time to do things. If you are
curious about being a mentor but wonder
what student project you might mentor, please
look at http://www.rtems.com/wiki/index.php/Open_Projects
to see the current list of ideas and their
descriptions.

Aanjhan was gracious enough to let me use
his student proposal from last year as a baseline
for our student proposal template. I have put
it into a Google Document and you can view its
HTML version here: http://tinyurl.com/yeduh6z
Comments are appreciated.

Please seriously consider doing this. It is
very rewarding to be a mentor and it is how
we encourage the next generation of computer
scientists to enter the embedded systems domain.

Thanks.
